Before I answer this question for you, let me take a step back to really get into the whole issue here. What are emotions in the first place? According to Adrian Furnham (Psychology Today), emotions are powerful social signals. E-motion, and motivation have the same Latin root meaning “to move”. In other words, emotions = Energy in Motion. Emotions send us quick, powerful, physical messages that allow us to respond to our environment. They also enable us to communicate voluntarily or involuntarily. So in a nutshell, emotions are here to help us. They are the internal radar of what is going inside us and how we are responding to the stimuli outside of us.

I'm sure some of you have been told that you simply 'feel too much' or that you are 'ov...

Before we decide what the answer to this title question will be, let's start with the picture on the left, of a man on the floor. The truth is, I asked about 15 people about what they think of the similar picture, and though some answers were similar or same, there was more than one opinion. The typical answer was that the guy is either passed out from drinking, drugs or sick. But what if the guy is a model for a photoshoot? Or an actor in a movie? Sure he looks like a homeless guy but is he?

Let's move on to another picture on the right. Two people were arguing about what they see. Each is correct; they have their truth which they believe. I love using this picture because it portrays perception. Perception is imperative to understand so that...

Discovering the SELF is not just looking in the mirror and seeing a familiar face you get to see everyday or every time you look in that mirror. The path of self-discovery is a lifelong process that brings so much learning, treasures and experiences that makes you UNIQUE. As Oscar Wild said in the 19th century "Be yourself, everyone else is already taken", he meant to really be YOU.

We are shaped by our belief systems, our families, words we hear from our parents growing up and the way we think completely shapes who we are and what our reality is. We come from all different backgrounds, some are happier than others yet ultimately we arrive at the same point and that is to trying to discover who we are. For those of you who will be arguing with m...

Seriously, how often do you ponder upon this question? I know I do, sometimes even more often than I'd like to. About a month ago, this was a topic of a discussion that I started with other wonderful women. Everyone of course has a different opinion on what they think Life Purpose is.  For some, raising the kids and making sure that they grow into decent human beings is a job on its own. This could easily be a life purpose. Others may feel that their job is their life purpose. And this goes on and on.

I envy those people that really, really know what their life purpose is. And there are those individuals that just know. Some knew even since they were kids. (WhenI was a kid, I didn't even know that I had a purpose.) My purpose was to be a good dau...

It is a day after Christmas Day and in the midst of Hanukkah, yet the energy in the air is very unpredictable and confusing. So many emotions are circling around everyone that it is almost impossible to try to make a sense out of things.

JOY and GRATITUDE

Yes, there are those little kiddies and even grown ups that got their perfect Christmas/Hanukkah present and their endless joy and gratitude beams into the Universe.

DISSAPPOINTMENT

Then there are those that were hoping to get that special present but the timing perhaps wasn't in the right constellation. These people could have been waiting for the loved one to come home, to get engaged, to get some special, materialistic gift, maybe even meet someone special so that they are not alone during the...

This is especially for those that work/deal with other people on daily basis....Ha! That's all of us. No, but really, those in service-oriented positions, where customers come in for whatever service and when they leave, they feel so much better. You, however, come home, beat up and exhausted. Sounds familiar? Chances are, your energy has been sucked dry. I personally don't like to use the term "energy vampires" as it links with negativity and I believe that all humans are pure love in the core.

WHAT ARE THEY?

We all have our ups and downs in life, and sometimes we need a little energy lifting up. And that's acceptable, even normal, we're just humans! But these people I'm referring to need that "lifting up" all the time, they are addicted to "re...

We all do it!

"That person at the check out was so rude to me, I can't stand it. She completely made me mad! I can't believe how someone like her got a job. If I were her boss, she'd be fired by the hour"... This is just a sample of ruminating thoughts running in our heads as the wave of anger rushes through our entire body.  AT THIS POINT we all have a choice before responding and reacting: Ok, so some chick was rude. It could be that she herself had a really bad day, something happened to her that she unconsciously reacted the way she did to you. Maybe she was not even aware of the fact of being rude to you. If I were to ask her right now, I'm sure, she would have a rational explanation and highly unlikely she would agreed that she wanted to p...
